This bell ringer just received a major update in August 2026! It has been completely reimagined into a comprehensive, print-friendly resource. With more schools moving away from devices, the new version requires no technology. The original digital version is still included, so you have access to both versions in one download.

What students do:
Each day, your students will color the country flag according to the code, read the short passage, and answer 1-2 reflection or critical thinking questions. Each country has a carefully written passage featuring a balanced mix of:
geography
history
culture
government and important facts
interesting details that help students better understand our diverse world
 
Students can also locate and color the country on the included map pages. These map pages can serve as page dividers in student binders or spirals and help reinforce geographic knowledge. A table of contents is also included, which lists the countries on each continent.

Response Questions:
Rather than relying on memorization or recall that can easily be answered with AI or an internet search, each passage includes critical thinking and reflection questions that encourage students to analyze, make connections, and think more deeply about what they have learned.
