2025 Gift Guide for the Social Studies Teachers

2025 Gift Guide for the Social Studiess Teacher

’Tis the season of giving, and what better way to spread a little joy than by surprising the social studies teacher in your life with something thoughtful and practical? Whether you’re a colleague, partner, or friend, this 2025 Gift Guide includes ideas that teachers will love—both in and out of the classroom.

If you can find meaningful gifts by thrift shopping (my personal favorite), I believe that's always a great place to start, but here are some ideas.

Every item featured here is something I personally use, love, and recommend.

A guide of gift ideas for social studies teachers

This is a really neat stackable lunch kit with everything you need. The company sent me a couple of versions to test out, and I love them. They come in a bunch of different colors and fun designs. The box is stackable with different dividers and a little container for small items like nuts. They also include plastic cutlery. I did a video review so you can see how it actually functions.

I didn't know that I needed this in my life until I first fiddled with it at a friend's house. If you like fidgets or sensory toys, this is a great one! It comes in several sizes.

This device brews a great individual cup of coffee. We have had one for years, and it is our go-to. It's small and easy to store away or pack for travel, and truly makes a great cup of coffee. It might look complex, but it's honestly really simple to use.

You can't pour from an empty cup, so getting a good night's sleep is important. I recently became a fan of the sleep mask, and I don't know why I didn't get on the bandwagon sooner. I have a watch that tracks my sleep, and the data shows that complete darkness has helped. This particular sleep mask is contoured and comfortable. Also, this is a great option for the teacher who loves traveling and could use this on a plane.

This is just a practical gift. This power strip is super compact and can easily be packed away in a work bag. It's got 4 outlets, 2 USB ports, and a USB-C port. The cord is four feet in length and wraps up nice and tight, so it's easy to pack away.

Sometimes the temperatures in the school fluctuate, and it's nice to have a little blanket on hand. This one has a stuff sack, so it packs down really small. A great option to drape over your lap while you work during your planning period, or to pull out if you're staying for a sports game in the evening.

For the social studies teacher who likes to spend time in the kitchen, this is a practical gift and eco-friendly swap. I switched to using food huggers to store my veggies, and it's been a game-changer. My produce lasts so much longer, and they are no longer slimy from sitting inside a plastic bag or being seran-wrapped. This gift would pair well with these silicone reusable storage bags.

This is an excellent book about how to have fearlessly curious conversations in dangerously divided times. Perfect book to read before the holidays or get-togethers, this is very practical and insightful.

My husband gave me a copy of this atlas as a gift a few years ago, and it is super fascinating. It is filled with infographics, charts, and visuals. This is a great resource on the status of women around the world today.
